The Utah Chapter of the United Nations Association is proud to have a “foothold” in Utah
I read with amusement Bryan Schott’s article on “The Common Cause” podcast, hosted by Reps. Phil Lyman and Mike Petersen.
In their podcast, their guest, “Salty Annie,” mentioned how the United Nations has a “foothold in Utah,” then provided a host of conspiracies about how the UN is trying to infiltrate Utah and to “brainwash” us.
As one of approximately 130 members of the Utah Chapter of the United Nations Association in the United States and its regional representative for the Rocky Mountain region, our goal is to support the United Nations and its 17 goals. sustainable development, such as poverty eradication, good health, quality education, decent work and economic growth, and more.
In fact, most Utahns support the United Nations and its efforts around the world. In a recent poll released by the Better World Campaign, 72% of Utah voters say it is important for the United States to be a member of the United Nations, 66% support the work of the United Nations to address issues at globally, and 82% say the United States should work cooperatively through international institutions to resolve conflicts abroad.
The United Nations Association-Utah Chapter is proud to have a “foothold” in Utah to promote a better world for all of us and encourage others to join our group.
