Serbia invites Egyptian President Al-Sisi to attend the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received Nikola Silakovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, on Sunday in the presence of Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Egyptian president praised the historic relations with Serbia for more than a hundred years, which have witnessed a constructive and fruitful cooperation between the two parties, whether bilaterally or internationally.
He noted that the two countries founded the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the 1960s, and that Egypt aspires to strengthen the progress of these relations between the two friendly countries at different levels, and to increase the rates. commercial and economic exchanges.
Al-Sisi spoke about the big development projects being implemented in Egypt, the huge investment and industrial opportunities it offers, as well as the possibility for Serbian companies to benefit from a group of trade agreements binding the Egypt to Arab and African countries.
For his part, the Serbian Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s will to continue coordination and consultation with Egypt in various fields, as well as its will to develop and strengthen its relations with Egypt.
He also praised Egypt’s efforts to achieve security and stability in its regional environment, stressing its concern to continue cooperation with Egypt at different levels to address the challenges facing both sides of the Mediterranean Sea.
This is in light of the direct relationship between security in Europe and the situation in the Middle East and North Africa
In this context, he praised Egypt’s efforts to strengthen the bridges of dialogue between African, Arab and European countries, as well as the efforts to counter extremism and establish principles and values of acceptance, freedom of choice and tolerance.
Later, ministers Shoukry and Silakovic held a press conference, during which the former said the two countries plan to strengthen cooperation in many areas, especially the economic sector.
He added that in the coming days, the joint committee between the two countries, headed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, will be formed.
Shoukry stressed that the challenges facing the Middle East were addressed and the emphasis was placed on strengthening relations between Egypt and Serbia, characterized by strength and solidarity.
He clarified that there is a common desire to improve joint relations amidst a great consensus on regional and international issues.
Shoukry stressed the importance of solidarity among members of the MNA to achieve common interests by interacting in all international forums.
He noted that President Al-Sisi has received an invitation to participate in the celebration that Serbia will organize on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the NAM.
For his part, Silakovic confirmed having conveyed a message from the Serbian President to President Al-Sisi, stressing that there is an effort to deepen bilateral relations at different levels in various fields.
Silakovic stressed that the meeting of the Joint Economic Committee will be organized by the end of this year, in addition to organizing the joint business council between the businessmen of the two countries in light of the existence of opportunities for cooperation in a number of different fields. who can deepen the partnership.
